BYRDIE, May 2016
We all know it takes a trusted makeup artist to get a celebrity Met Gala–ready, but what about a makeup artist getting Met Gala–ready? Well, that comes with its own set of rituals. World-renowned makeup guru Gucci Westman gave Byrdie an exclusive look at her pre-Met prep—from trying on the perfect dress to doing her own makeup (and the products she swears by, obviously).
6:15 a.m: Woke up and left Bedford, jammed to the city, and got the kids ready to go to school by 7:50 a.m.
8:15 a.m.: I had a workout with Samantha, who teaches at The Class by Taryn Toomey. I did a modified version and it was great.
Afterward, I had breakfast: an Ezekiel English muffin with almond butter and honey, blueberries, decaf iced almond milk latte, and a bio K.
10 a.m.: I went to my first dress fitting of the day at Rag and Bone. We made a few adjustments.
11 a.m.: I had a facial with Georgia Louise, whom I love. She gave me her signature massage, which lifts your face up. Then, I had a facial with Elemis products.
